It's interesting to see how other people feel about snow... I am from Minnesota, where we certainly tend to take snow for granted, and typically feel we could do without! But many of us still love skiing and snowboarding and look forward to it every year!

Bill was a fine friend of mine through Army basic training and Russian language training. Bill and Bonnie were fairly newly married when I knew them and "Little Bill" as he was known then had just been born. I have wondered about Bill and Bonnie in the years since and I am so sad to hear of his passing away. I remember Bill used to say that when he retired he would like to open a little barber shop. Glad to hear he had several more children as he loved children. Bonnie and the children have my deepest sympathies. He was a good guy!

Yes, Parents are obligated to make sure their marriage & family is eternal, no matter what & that they never break their covenants to their spouse & break up the family. There may be rare occasions when a spouse is too destructive to live with & the other spouse must love & serve & stay faithful to their unrighteous spouse from a safe distance, until their spouse repents, in this life or the next & thus keep the family eternal & be worthy of Exaltation.

Unfortunately no one today, except a rare few, seems to believe in Christ & his teachings that divorce & remarriage are adultery. It seems everyone has been deceived by the falsehood that divorce is not a sin anymore & instead of having the unconditional true love that Christ showed & commanded us to have, especially for our spouse, no matter how unrighteous they may become, most people instead divorce & put their own welfare & needs before their unrigheous spouse's.

For in the next life all unrighteous spouses will repent & make it all up to their spouse & children throughout eternity, if the other spouse has been Christlike & faithfully waited & kept their covenants to save their errrant spouse & family forever.

Far too often children are caused to suffer so much as parents put their own happiness & welfare & needs before their spouse's & children's & divorce & remarry.

All children can have their own mother & father forever & every marriage can be saved if at least one spouse is willing to keep their promise to have 'unconditional true love' for the other, no matter what, which is the only thing that can hold marriages & families together today.

And unfortunately today, most marriages need saving because of the abuse, adultery or abandonment of one of the spouses, so hopefully the other spouse will save the spouse & marriage & not abandon the marriage too.

I really appreciated your Steckler history.

I am the son of Mildred Rose Steckler, who died 01‑14-1998 in Orange county, California. Her husband's last name was Langlois (your writeup had an extra L in the last name). He was born 02‑23-1901 in Chicago and died 11‑05‑1986 in Glendale, California.

Thanks again.

I think you have to make the suggestions to your son and see what he is most into doing. He knows best what he thinks will be more fun and thus he will want to stay awake most for. I think it is really great that you are making it into a night to remember, a challenge turned fun.

Maybe its not such a bad idea that your oldest helps keep you both awake, I would probably pay him to keep me awake!

I really hate the polygamy one. My friends are constantly asking me questions like whether or not we are CHristian. I always reply with "No. Our name just says 'church of Jesus Christ of latterday saints' because we liked it." I love answering questions like "do you believe in a god?" or "do you celebrate your birthday?" They are pointless.

I am a non-Mormon with Mormon family and Mormon friends. One friend, a jack Mormon told me she almost fell out of her chair when someone said to her, "Ummm, I hate to ask this, but is it true that you do a special dance with salt and pepper shakers?" She assured them that wasn't true.
