Velma Hart First it was Joe the Plumber with an embarrassing question for candidate Obama in the 2008 election cycle. Recently, it was Velma Hart, who described herself as “a CFO, wife, mother and veteran.” In one of those “not-intended-for-prime-time” unguarded moments at a town hall meeting to tout the end of the recession, the rolling cameras from MSNBC caught her on tape. Now that moment, on the very day, September 22, 2010, the recession was officially pronounced as “over,” is going viral on YouTube. She explained first she was an avid supporter of President Obama and had voted for him in 2008. But then she expressed her “deep disappointment” with Obama’s economic record — to his face. “I’ve been told that I voted for a man who said he’s going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class. I’m one of those people, and I’m waiting, sir. . .... Read the rest of this entry »

Britain’s Healthcare System Praised by Donald Berwick
Having lived in Great Britain for two years and seen firsthand what a disaster Britain’s system was like, I was stunned to hear it praised in recent years by Dr. Donald Berwick, Obama’s choice to become the new Administrator, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. My brother Tim had him as a professor at BU in his graduate program, and he is thrilled with this appointment. I hope Tim, who is actually involved as a health care administrator at IHC knows what he’s talking about, but I’m not seeing it (yet). I can always be persuaded otherwise, hope always springs eternally within me. Obama made this appointment without any Senate hearings to confirm him while Congress was out for the 4th of July recess. It’s no wonder, when you examine his socialist leanings and his determination to end the “dark night of private enterprise.” In 2004, The Boston Globe did a story on Berwick. They called him “The... Obama: Credibility Crisis
Two interesting stories caught my eye this morning: This one from the Washington Post, then this one from the Financial Times of London. You may have to register to see the Times story (worth it). The possibility of the loss of both houses of Congress is now being openly admitted. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, of course took Robert Gibbs to task publicly, vowing to keep her Democrat majority in the House. Clever strategy, appear to be divided within the party. James Carville called it “brilliant.” The only problem with such brilliant strategy is that it’s all backfiring — a growing majority is not buying what they’re selling. When you’re the president of the elites who thinks you know better than everyone else because you’re so danged smart, and then the polls begin telling you only 13 percent of Americans believe your policies are actually helping them as citizens, you’ve... Obama: Six in Ten say "No confidence"
This just in — according to this story in the Washington Post today, six in ten Americans say they have no confidence in President Obama’s ability to lead the country. . . even better, 62 percent are looking for new representation in Congress. Those most likely to vote in the midterms prefer the GOP over continued Democratic rule by a sizable margin of 56 percent to 41 percent. Word of caution: Don’t accept a party label as the outer limit of your scrutiny of candidates. The last time Republicans had control they blew it. What it takes is candidates from either party who pledge limited government and reduced spending. The Great Awakening of 2010 marches on to November. . . Free Counter Read More →
Obamacare "scored" by the CBO
I know this will come a huge shock to all of you, but it seems Nevada politics is suddently immersed in the controversial passage of Obamacare. There’s only one reason this is true. Harry Reid (D-NV), Senate majority leader, was the point man for President Obama, and now people are actually looking at the budgetary implications of this massive entitlement program. Remember when it passed in the dead of the night and few had actually read the bill before it passed? Now the pigeons are coming home to roost. The Congressional Budget Office just issued an updated report — they have now read it and analyzed its costs using their assumptions. Sharron Angle, the Republican nominee challenging Reid for his Senate seat, and an arch-conservative who believes the entitlement mentality in Washington MUST be altered drastically, has come under withering fire from Harry Reid’s campaign and its operatives. The reason? ... Read the rest of this entry »

The Illuminati and the New World Order
I’m not a big conspiracy theorist fan. I have no doubt the world domination conspiracies have many adherents and true believers. I was a young man when I first heard about the Illuminati, and it becomes the underlying theme in the Dan Brown book and movie, Angels and Demons, and other pop culture references. Many assert its members have included Winston Churchill, the Bush family, Barack Obama, the Rothschild family, David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski. Almost every assassination plot can find an easy connection to the Illuminati, it seems, as they seek to usher in the New World Order. When I was a younger man, I was mildly intrigued by all the Kennedy assassination theories. I finally concluded I would have to wait for some future day to discern the truth, after visiting Dealey Plaza for the first time. Then it occurred to me that all I needed to do was wait for the sequel to National Treasure 2, since the answer was revealed... Read the rest of this entry »
Can Anyone Still Take the U.N. Seriously?
No, it is not April Fools Day, and this story is not a joke.Without fanfare, the United Nations this week elected Iran to its Commission on the Status of Women, handing a four-year seat on the influential human rights body to a theocratic state in which stoning is enshrined in law and lashings are required for women judged “immodest.”Just days after Iran abandoned a high-profile bid for a seat on Read More →
Never Thought I’d Say This…
…and get ready for Hell to freeze over … but Keith Olbermann makes an excellent point.Yes, you read that right. The guy is a raving left-wing loon, but he is right about the senate healthcare bill, specifically the requirement that all Americans purchase government approved insurance. He lays out what it will cost the President:[T]his bill costs you the [support of the political] left —and Read More →
Why Trying the 9/11 Terrorists in NYC is a BAD Idea
An excellent analysis of why trying Khalid Shiekh Mohammud in New York is a colossal mistake. The legal jargon is a little dense, sorry. The writer is an attorney who lays out how the trial will inevitably play out. I think he’s exactly right. We’ve seen this already in the trial of Zacharias Moussoui (however it’s spelled), the alleged 20th hijacker. In short it will be a massive media circus, Read More →
In Praise of the Great Leader!
The lyrics are here (there were two songs) if you have the stomach for it. Now, I know the President didn’t have anything to do with this, but when I saw this, it literally sent a chill down my spine. This is how you build up a cult of personality. We do NOT do this kind of thing in America! As an adult, fine, sing whatever you want, you have the freedom to do so. But to teach children this kind Read More →
