Welcome to the Neighborhood News In today’s Personal Touch interview with Rebecca Cressman, she has a one-on-one with Vince DiCaro. Vince DiCaro is the Senior Director of Public Affairs for the National Fatherhood Institute. As such Vince runs government and press relations for the NFI and works everyday to encourage fathers to invest in their families and for society to invest in fathers. The NFI recently relaunched the website Fatherhood.org filled with parenting information, advice, and resources just for dads. Vince is a contributing writer on the NFI blog “The Father Factor” and is a graduate of The College of New Jersey, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history and economics. He received a master’s degree in Communications from Johns Hopkins University, where he wrote a thesis on the depiction of fathers in Hollywood films. Personal Touch
Welcome to the Neighborhood News Today is our last Personal Touch scheduled on a Wednesday. Starting next week, we’re moving to Mondays. We’ll also be featuring tougher, more intriguing issues, mingled with the usual ones. Rebecca Cressman interviewed Greg Hudnall for today’s Personal Touch. Greg Hudnall is Director of Student Services for the Provo City School District. His professional passion is saving young lives by giving adolescents considering suicide the option of hope and healing from depression and mental illness. Greg helped found the community volunteer-based Hope Task Force for Suicide Prevention and now serves on the State of Utah Suicide Prevention Task Force. He is also the executive director for the State Crisis Team for schools, and is currently working on his doctorate dissertation, which is creating a K-12 suicide prevention manual for public schools. Sharing our Mormon Faith makes us happy
My son Luca (Elder Martinengo) will come home in 3 days from his mission in Massachusetts. A little more than a week ago, he asked a member of the Church over there to call me, in order to ask me to contact a person interested in the Church, who was ready to be baptized, but who had some concerns to be resolved. (Elder Martinengo did not call me personally because Mormon missionaries are not supposed to talk to their parents while in their missions – unless it is Christmas or it is mothers’ day ))). The previous Sunday, Elder Martinengo had taken several people interested in the Church to a special conference with Elder Ballard. One of them, Monica (from Brazil) , was particularly thrilled while listening to Elder Ballard. It looks like Elder Martinengo, after the end of the conference, decided to take Monica to meet Elder Ballard for a few moments.
