do you know what is kind of crazy?

Posted by On August - 5 - 2011

about blogging that is?  With blogging, it is totally acceptable to stalk another human being. I mean think about it; you know where they live (generally) the name of their husband, children, dog, gold fish, favorite purse, etc. You may even know what they are wearing…  If you had tried to explain the concept of blogs 20 years ago, you probably would have been put on some kind of “watch this person because they are creepy list.” But we’ve embraced it! More than that, we have glorified being a creepster. Soooo. In honer of all creepsters everywhere, I’m starting a ‘be a creepster’ series presenting some of my favorite stalking haunts!  Let us creepsterize together! Wearing it on My Sleeves I actually was in quite a few classes with Sarah, and always thought she was ridiculously cute and fun, and had amazing style! So what was my delight when I discovered she had a blog that I could now stalk! Oh sweet joy! ask the duplex monica and whitney... Read the rest of this entry »

That is the number of blogs that I subscribe to.  137.  Wow, I had no idea!  Now, they don’t all post everyday.  In fact some haven’t posted in months.  But they are still on my list.  I read them in Google Reader, so I don’t have to click around on every blog.  I also have another 6 that are private blogs that I go to their blogs to read.  I like reading about other people’s lives.  I guess I am a little bit of a voyeur.  Read More →

Well, here we go again.  I am going to try and blog every day in November.  I’m crazy, I know.  I have a theme this year.  I am going by the numbers.  Every post (except the Sunday quotes) will be about numbers.  So today’s post is “1.”  Today is the 1st day of November and my goal is to end the month with the number 30, meaning I have posted every day.  Here we go!  Read More →

So, I am constantly finding blog posts that excite me, give me inspiration, make me cry, and make me think.  I want to share these with all of you, but listing them one at a time would be annoying.  So I thought I would give something a try.  Every so often, I will post a compilation of my favorite posts.  I hope you all enjoy.  Here we go. A Shallow Immature Angry Rant.  This is an excellent explanation of why I hate camping.  This is written by one of my favorite bloggers, Braden Bell, who wrote "The Roadshow."  Excellent book. On Women and Men: Can’t We Just Get Along.  Another post by Braden Bell. I have to admit I have been guilty of this before, and I am going to try harder. Healthy Halloween Party Food  Tis the season…for Halloween.  Here are some really fun ways to get your kids to be excited about vegetables!  Halloween Ideas  More Halloween ideas!  LDS ABC’s Quiet Book  Finally,... Read the rest of this entry »

~by Becky Seeing the prophet’s jet heading towards the Safford airport caused great excitement! It’s the little white line at the top of the mountain. We had made signs to welcome the prophet and got construction barricades for the signs to be put on. We heard the news that the prophet would be landing around 2:00 so we decided to wait at the end of my in-laws drive way so we could wave to him as he drove by. We had no idea that we were in for the treat of a lifetime! Here comes his slew of cars…. The prophet instructed his driver to pull over. It almost caused the cars behind his to rear end each other. You can imagine our AWE when the cars pulled over. I had been told to take lots of good pictures so I ran closer thinking they might get out and wave to us then get back in their cars. Imagine my excitement seeing the prophet walking towards us. He was telling us to stay there and he would come to us, he didn’t want us in the road. By great chance I happened to... Read the rest of this entry »

A Website for the Average Mormon

Posted by On April - 5 - 2010

I’ve been reading the arguments on MormonThink.com off and on for several years now.  I have a lot of respect for the individuals behind the site, even though most of them choose to be anonymous.  I am confident that I have been visited by several of the contributors there or at least by those who read their site and others like it such as Ex Mormon and Post Mormon. I am by no means a scholar or intellectual.  I think I’m pretty smart and that I’m pretty good with logic.  After all, I have made a living for thirty years demystifying computers for others.  But I know there are a lot of people out there who are smarter than I am and who have the academic credentials to prove it.  I like to think that I’m just a regular, average, typical Latter-day Saint. I like smart, thinking people and especially people who present logical conclusions well, either in writing or verbally.  Critical thinking is a skill that I am constantly striving to improve.  I confess that I am impressed... Read the rest of this entry »

FAIR is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing well-documented answers to criticisms of LDS doctrine, belief and practice.
