Some others may have read the August Ensign, and noted the pages dedicated to celebrating 400 years of King James Bible. I was sort of inspired to put my 2 cents about the Bible in ordered bits as if someone else were interested in my thoughts. Feel free to criticise/correct me; but my hope is [...] Read More →

The First Fish Fry
When I was younger we often attended our Sunday services at the LDS church and then went to church with my Granny, who was a member of a Baptist church. Although it made for a very long Sunday, I enjoyed attending church with my Granny. Even though she was not Mormon, Granny was always at our church because she attended whenever we asked her to. If there was a Primary program she was there, if there was a baptism she was there, ward activity there, pretty much if we sneezed and we wanted her at church with us, she was there. Of course Granny loved us, but I think much of her willingness to attend church with us was because my parents allowed her grandchildren to attend church with her also. My Granny is no longer with us and I cannot express how grateful I am for those extra long Sundays, they are precious memories that I cherish, memories centered on Christ. There were special Sundays at Granny’s church where they had a dinner after the service. A fish fry! (A cookout... Read the rest of this entry »
Latter-day Saint Women Write about The Book of Mormon: Amanda
Editor’s note: This is our second post in our series where members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share about what The Book of Mormon means to them. You can read the first post in our series here: “The Book of Mormon…was meant for me“. Today, Amanda shares some of thoughts, posted with permission. You can read her entire blog post here. I haven’t always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was proud and selfish, into doing my own thing and trying more worldly ways. Granted the world has some ways that are fun but always left me feeling hollow and a bit lost by the end of the day. I began to feel my spirit was a great chasm of darkness. I felt lost. Oddly enough, through this lonely road of exploration, I always felt there was a God, He loved me, and I continued to pray daily to Him. I felt His Spirit here and there. Then one day, I couldn’t feel His presence in my life at all. I knew... Read the rest of this entry »

Enduring to the end to receive a crown of righteousness
Introduction One of the main criticism against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that concerning the evangelical perspective of Mormonism being a Gospel of Works. In that, evangelical Christians constantly accuse Latter-day Saints of not relying fully on the efficacy of the Cross and the Grace offered unto all humanity who comes [...] Read More →

New research and evidence for a goddess wife in Ancient Israel
Critics of the Latter-day Saint faith take issue with the idea that the restored Gospel teaches the idea of humanity having the potentiality of becoming like our Heavenly Father. In its proper and simplistic context, the doctrine is based on the idea of eternal progression and involves the concept of deification. Not only do modern [...] Read More →
