The Lives of Faithful Mormons

Archive for the ‘america’ Category

Many say to me I am the busiest person they know. I don’t know if that’s true, but I always seem to find time for the things I need to do. I’m still on Buy Back America with Tim Aalders, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (MDT) on KTALK AM 630 or streamed on http://k-talk.com. But in order to have a little something of my own I’ve launched a YouTube Channel called Turning the Tide and a BlogTalkRadio.com radio show of the same name. Both are dedicated to enlightening, informing and motivating American citizens to action which will lead us toward morning in America again. The Turning the Tide radio show launches this Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. (MDT) and airs every Saturday thereafter. I am interviewing Boyd Matheson of Trillium Strategies. Boyd is truly amazing at messaging, branding, and marketing whatever he puts his mind to. He is the founder and Chief Strategy Officer for Trillium Strategies. Ann Coulter, when we interviewed her a few weeks... Read the rest of this entry »

Faith in America, From My Viewpoint

Posted by On August - 14 - 2011

As the presidential campaign season kicks off in earnest, attacks on the faith of Latter-day Saint members has begun in earnest. This is a never ending thing with Latter-day Saints. Although we are devout Christians, other faiths claim to know better than we ourselves do, and proclaim we are not Christians. Others reach way out into fantasy land and draw comparisons between despicable current figures and ancestors of long ago. I feel the need to point some very basic things out, try to correct before things get totally out-of-control, again. We have two Latter-day Saints, commonly known as Mormons (the faith so named by someone who was not a Latter-day Saint, but the handle stuck,) in the 2012 Presidential race, Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman. As such, let’s go over who Latter-day Saints REALLY are, as opposed to what people really wish we were. We are devout Christians. Our 1st Article of Faith reads: “We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and... Read the rest of this entry »

The Ames, Iowa Republican Debate

Posted by On August - 11 - 2011

It was an interesting evening, to say the least. The first thirty minutes were pretty much an all out war between Tim Pawlenty and Michele Bachmann. In all honesty, I’m going to declare Michele Bachmann the winner of that little war within a war! Anyway, I did a play by play on Facebook and then read back over everything. People are commenting left and right and everyone has their opinion, but I’d like to talk about why debates are so necessary. With a field as large as the Republican field is, we need to get it whittled down and whittled down quickly. Barack Obama, our extremely lame president, is gathering money to take on the winner of the Republican primary. In the meantime, Republicans are attacking each other instead of attacking the culprit, Barack Hussein Obama. Many of them need to regroup and consider who the enemy is, and it’s not each other. Don’t poison the well so much that the winner of the frontrunner is so poisoned by our own people they will not... Read the rest of this entry »

Mitt Romney: Faith in America

Posted by On August - 10 - 2011

Mitt Romney did an interview with the extremely liberal British talk show host, Piers Morgan. Piers really hammered him on the Mormon religion, and Mitt took the stance of John F. Kennedy. On our radio show today we talked about different presidential candidates. Tim really has a problem with Mitt not clearly stating where he stands on issues and how they would or would not effect him if he is the next U.S. president. And let me state very clearly right now, I have not chosen a presidential candidate to support yet. When I do, I will post it on this blog, but until then, I will continue to straighten things out as they come up. I’m really BIG on having no misinformation about any of the candidates. So I started digging and located the transcript of Mitt Romney’s Faith in America speech. I read through it again and feel it bears posting so that people understand where Governor Romney stands on this issue. Mitt Romney: Faith in America December 6, 2007 The following... Read the rest of this entry »

China currently owns $1.1 trillion of U.S. debt, I am certain that’s about to go up to $3.5 trillion as Obama turns to his favorite creditor to get more money for his programs. As of April of 2011, US Treasury bonds owned overseas accounted for $4.5 trillion of the national debt – up 10% on June last year. The U.S. now owes over $14.5 trillion. (We owed $7.8 trillion in 2005, to an exploding $14.5 trillion as of today.) China is the biggest owner of U.S. Treasury bonds – over $1.152 trillion by April this year – up 4% on last year. (Source Guardian.co.uk) And what is China’s response to this? A stern warning to Barack Obama, because he is our missing president, on this subject, to get our fiscal house in order and they, ever so slyly, recommend that we start with the American military, the greatest in the world, which they fear. Their motivation is clear, they’ve watched Congress as they weakened America’s economy, now China slides right... Read the rest of this entry »

The blog I wrote on 29 July 2011, “What Barack Obama Left Out” clearly warned, as did every major news source worth their salt, that if Congress did not find, at minimum, $9 trillion in REAL cuts, not shadow cuts, we were faced with America’s credit rating being downgraded. Specifically I wrote: 7. And that brings us to Standard & Poor and Moodys. Standard & Poor has said, very clearly, that unless they see a budget with real cuts to the tune of $9 to 10 trillion, they will downgrade America’s credit. Again, none of the plans on the table, listed above, come ANYWHERE near to this. But still, the pontificating goes on, on Capitol Hill while they play at the crisis–while doing absolutely nothing! We on  Read More →

I grow weary of the pontificating taking place on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. The Democrats want to keep wildly spending with no restrictions. The Republicans are playing at making cuts, but none of them real. In the meantime, here are the things Barack Obama conveniently left out of his brief speech of casting blame: 1. The economic growth of America for the last six months is a dismal 1.3% under Barack Obama and Harry Reid’s watch. Why do I say under their watch? Because Republicans have passed plan after plan all to be stalled in the U.S. Senate by Senator Harry Reid. Thanks, Nevada, really appreciate the stumbling block you gave us! But Obama didn’t think it important to include that in his speech. 2. Democrats had four years to rectify our now $14.5 trillion debt. But instead, they added almost $4 trillion to it, and want to add another $2.4 trillion without the rectifying of our grossly bloated government and their spending habits. But NOW they find it convenient... Read the rest of this entry »

A Cause Worth Perfecting

Posted by On July - 26 - 2011

With the news that Michelle Obama was in Utah today, AND she raised $420,000 from gullible Utahns who apparently have not paid attention to what has been going on in America for the last three years, I’ve been pondering quite a bit. You all know I am the co-host (to Tim Aalders) of KTALK AM 630′s Buy Back America. It is an honor and privilege to be on air 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, talking of the state of America’s Main Street, K Street, Washington, D.C. as a whole, the Obama Administration, Congress, conservatives and liberals throughout the nation, promoting small business, etc. Through the course of these months, as America’s economic and constitutional positions have grown more and more precarious, there has been a sense of urgency growing in the conservative movement across the nation. This is an urgency that is 10-fold in my own heart. I know I cannot save America by myself. I know there are millions across America joined in this great cause to preserve... Read the rest of this entry »

Please, I am asking each of you to help spread the word about the Declaration of Restoration across America as we recreate Reagan’s “morning in America” again. Join us in this effort and invite all your friends to do the same. Let the fire of the American spirit sweep across this land in a bid to restore the Republic. One voice added to millions can restore America to the dream which has been the hope of generations upon generations. Even a $5 donation will go a long way in helping take the Declaration of Restoration to Washington, D.C. and across America. Let’s see if we can bring tens of millions to this event with the power of word of mouth. Facebook Event: Declaration of Restoration from America “When in the course of human events…” these words began the creation of a nation which surpassed all others in the world. This monumental, historical document went on to say, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they... Read the rest of this entry »

Respected Sir:  The kind invitation I received from you, on the part of the citizens of the city of Washington, to be present with them at their celebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of American Independence, as one of the surviving signers of an instru-ment, pregnant with our own and the fate of the world, is most flattering to myself, and heightened by the honorable accompaniment proposed for the comfort of such a journey. It adds sensibly to the sufferings of sickness, to be deprived by it of a personal participation in the rejoicings of that day; but acquiescence is a duty under circumstances not placed among those we are permitted to control.   I should, indeed, with peculiar delight, have met and exchanged there congratulations, personally, with the small band, the remnant of that host of worthies who joined with us on that day, in the bold and doubtful election we were to make, for our country, between sub-mission and the sword; and to have enjoyed with them the... Read the rest of this entry »

America the Beautiful

Posted by On July - 4 - 2011

I go to a Samoan ward with my sweet husband, so I rarely hear any hymns in English anymore. And yes, I miss them very much. But yesterday we sang America the Beautiful for the opening hymn and it was beautiful. The words struck deeper, carried more meaning, and I actually felt my heart overwhelmed with feelings of deep love and admiration for the founding generation of America. So many nitpick dates, who should be celebrating what and hwen, etc. However, I really believe the power of America lies in the heart of the American people and our acknowledgement of our God as the provider of this great nation. As the events in Washington, D.C. continue unfold, and not to the benefit of the American people, there are but a few in Congress willing to fight that good fight, I have come to realize that the salvation of America lies with the American people.  In all honesty, this is what the Buy Back America Radio National Bus Tour is all about, uniting America. Reminding the American people... Read the rest of this entry »
